San Jose Water (CA) expands to water loss monitoring

Further to failure and risk prediction, it will add Baseform Monitor's real time operational efficiency

San Jose Water is already an expert user of our software's Predict capabilities, focused on for their water supply system's 2400 miles of pipelines.

It is now adding our Monitor capabilities to focus on real time operational efficiency, specifically in the area of water loss management, including water balance sector monitoring, event management, continuous component analysis, water loss indicators and the ability to prioritize interventions based on expertly selected metrics.

Baseform's event detection and DMA management capabilities enable our users to respond faster and more proactively to pipe breaks and other events and, through continuous component analysis, to streamline their priorities in water loss management based on factual evidence. 

However, event detection gets into a whole more effective mode when the utility also deploys pipe failure prediction, as is the case. Already a mainstream application at SJW in the context of optimized network renewal planning,being able to derive predicted break rates for every pipe also provides operations with a qualified landscape of pipes where to direct leak detection efforts, once an event is picked up by Baseform, or once a given sector is prioritized for detail work from component analysis.

This ability to bring together and leverage data from traditionally separate areas of technical management works in favor of increasingly integrated decision-making, only made possible by last-gen software like Baseform.
