Baseform's Ken Bossung will be at AWWA Utility Management Conference in Dallas, Texas (February 11-14), together with Joe Smith of Austin Water, to present "Austin Water Uses Cloud Based, Predictive Analytics Platform to Drive Wastewater Network CIP Planning/Capacity Analysis" (Thu, Feb 13)

Since 2022, Austin Water has been using Baseform’s SaaS platform that includes predictive analytics for their 3,200 mile wastewater network. The software is being used for a number of concurrent efforts including inspections analysis (condition prediction), failure prediction, consequence of failure, risk assessment; short to long-term asset planning and network modeling to support the City’s rapid population growth. The complexity of this case lies on deployment of largely similar processes for failure prediction and condition prediction in Austin’s sewer system, with significant experience in deep exploration by the utility staff of potential predictive variables. The utility explored not just predictive LoF but jointly developed a progressively more tuned framework for CoF assessment, involving diverse dimensions from service risk to 3rd party liabilities, to cost and financial risk, to environmental sensitivity. The ability to use and sync diverse sources of data from both the wastewater and water supply system data in a joint deployment has demonstrated value in automated data upload, data validation and syncing, as well as the ROI of the analytics’ results all in the SaaS platform.
